Process Improvement Systems
Safety Rounding & Findings Tracking System: I created a safety rounding tool that brought clarity to what was being reported across our facilities. The dashboard made trends visible, helped the team set meaningful goals, and shifted the work from “collecting data for accreditation” to actually improving safety. It supported initiatives that lowered our Experience Modification Factor from 0.46 to 0.44 and earned praise from our accreditor for its level of detail and usefulness.
“Don’t look for the big, quick improvement. Seek the small improvement one day at a time. That’s the only way it happens. When it happens, it lasts.”
– John Wooden
Emergency Data Tracking
Emergency Response Data Tracking & Analysis: To help our team understand the types of incidents we were responding to, I created a tool that tracked every emergency call across our facilities. The data made patterns visible and helped us focus our training on the scenarios staff were actually facing. Our accreditor mentioned they’ve only seen one other hospital attempt something similar, and that our approach was significantly more detailed and actionable.
“Data are just summaries of thousands of stories – tell a few of those stories to help make the data meaningful.”
– Dan Heath
On-Demand Training
On-Demand Micro-Training Video Series: I produced a series of short, five-minute training videos to help staff stay current on essential safety and HazMat topics without relying on frequent in-person classes. The on-demand format made training more accessible, reduced time away from work, and supported consistent competency across teams with different schedules and responsibilities.
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
